VERINA Implemented Environmental Remediation Projects in Binghamton, NY Area

February 01, 2012

Verina Consulting Group LLC (VERINA) has been retained by a Fortune 500 firm to provide environmental services at two of their legacy environmental sites, each located in Binghamton, New York area.  The client, a global, diversified manufacturing company with multi-billion dollar in annual revenues has retained VERINA to provide turn-key remediation services to address the two sites that are currently under New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) oversight.

At one site, VERINA will be responsible for conducting the operation and maintenance (O&M) for a groundwater remediation system utilizing in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) to remediate groundwater impacted with chlorinated solvents and to evaluate the progress of the remediation progress.  In addition, VERINA will monitor the indoor air quality in the on-site buildings and assure continued operation of a vapor intrusion mitigation system.  In both cases, VERINA will be solely responsible to manage site conditions with respect to environmental concerns to comply with regulatory requirements.

At the second site, VERINA will continue an additional ongoing ISCO remediation effort designed to address groundwater impacts, while continuing to monitor the groundwater quality at the site in accordance with the regulatory requirements.  In addition, VERINA will evaluate the indoor air quality, and fate and transport of constituents of concern in the soil gas at the site.   Remedial measures, if needed, will be implemented to improve the indoor air quality within the on-site building.
