Welcome Mikhail Fradkin to VERINA

Verina Consulting Group, LLC (VERINA) today announced that Mikhail Fradkin joined VERINA as an Environmental Scientist.

Mikhail will be part of the team to conduct field activities associated with environmental site assessment, investigation and remediation, as well as remediation systems operation and maintenance.  In addition, he will also assist with data management and report preparation.

VERINA Implemented Environmental Remediation Projects in Binghamton, NY Area

Verina Consulting Group LLC (VERINA) has been retained by a Fortune 500 firm to provide environmental services at two of their legacy environmental sites, each located in Binghamton, New York area.  The client, a global, diversified manufacturing company with multi-billion dollar in annual revenues has retained VERINA to provide turn-key remediation services to address the two sites that are currently under New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) oversight.

 

At one site, VERINA will be responsible for conducting the operation and maintenance (O&M) for a groundwater remediation system utilizing in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) to remediate groundwater impacted with chlorinated solvents and to evaluate the progress of the remediation progress.  In addition, VERINA will monitor the indoor air quality in the on-site buildings and assure continued operation of a vapor intrusion mitigation system.  In both cases, VERINA will be solely responsible to manage site conditions with respect to environmental concerns to comply with regulatory requirements.

 

At the second site, VERINA will continue an additional ongoing ISCO remediation effort designed to address groundwater impacts, while continuing to monitor the groundwater quality at the site in accordance with the regulatory requirements.  In addition, VERINA will evaluate the indoor air quality, and fate and transport of constituents of concern in the soil gas at the site.   Remedial measures, if needed, will be implemented to improve the indoor air quality within the on-site building.

VERINA Adds Michael A. Hansen, P.E. as Senior Engineer

Verina Consulting Group LLC (VERINA) announces the appointment of Michael Hansen, P.E. as Senior Engineer. In his position, Mike will be responsible for project strategy development and remediation engineering, as well as strategic planning, marketing and business development focusing on remediation services.

Mike brings nearly 22 years of experience of diverse experience in the areas of site evaluation, soil and groundwater remediation, environmental compliance, and the overall evaluation of potential liabilities associated contaminated sites and other facilities.  In addition, Mr. Hansen has extensive experience in project, program and customer management for individual environmental projects as well as portfolios of projects/sites serving both private and public sector clients.

“Mike has been responsible for leading client and market development for one of the largest US consulting and engineering firms,” said Robert Gan, Managing Principal of VERINA. “His experiences will significantly enhance VERINA’ capabilities in the remediation market and expand project types and service offerings to our clients.”

VERINA Awarded Contract to Provide Environmental Services at a Former Chemical Manufacturing site in Hackensack, NJ

Verina Consulting Group, LLC (VERINA) was been retained to provide environmental services at a former chemical manufacturing site located in Hackensack, New Jersey.  The client, a nationally known specialty chemical manufacturing company has selected VERINA to provide turn-key remediation services, including New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) oversight services.

Past activities have left a complex and varied soils and groundwater impacts, including an extensive dense non-aqueous phase liquid (DNAPL) problem, which requires remediation within a complicated and challenging geological setting. Residual constituents of concern include chlorinated volatile organic compounds such as PCE, TCE, Carbon Tetrachloride, various Freon isomers, semi-volatile organic compounds, and arsenic.

VERINA will be developing a full-scale remediation strategy and will submit a remedial action workplan to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).  Services will also include vapor intrusion investigation and mitigation, bench-scale and pilot scale testing for in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) treatment, and interim DNAPL recovery efforts.

Welcome Tammy Yuan, P.E. to VERINA!

Verina Consulting Group, LLC (VERINA) today announced that Tammy Yuan, P.E. joined VERINA as a Project Manager and Project Engineer.

Tammy is a licensed professional engineer in New Jersey with over six years of experience in environmental site assessments, investigation, characterization, and remediation; and environmental information management.  She will assist with data management and review to evaluate hydrogeology, contaminant distribution, and biogeochemistry of the site, investigation and remedial strategies development, remedial alternative evaluation, remedial system design, cost estimating, construction planning, technical specifications, subcontractor management, construction oversight, and preparation of reports.

Claudio Stabile Joined VERINA as a Senior Draftsperson

Verina Consulting Group, LLC (VERINA) today announced it has hired Claudio Stabile, CD, as a senior draftsperson to support its design and drafting services.

Claudio is a Certified Draftsperson by American Design & Drafting Association and brings more than 11 years of experience of CAD drafting technology in the environmental and engineering consulting field.

Claudio brings to VERINA his knowledge of underground storage tank, site remediation activities, and civil engineering as translated into client specific site maps, actual and propositional soil boring and monitoring well location maps, distribution of organic and inorganic compounds detected in soil and groundwater, cross sectional plans, groundwater elevation isocontours and buried utilities search maps, as well as detailing land use, topographic evaluation, geological and survey point referencing and orthophotographic representation.

VERINA Selected by a New Jersey-Based Transportation and Real Estate Company to Provide Comprehensive Environmental Consulting Services

Verina Consulting Group, LLC (VERINA) was retained by a New Jersey-based transportation and real estate company to provide comprehensive environmental consulting services at its Jersey City, New Jersey location.  The client has selected VERINA to oversee on-going remedial activities conducted by the former tenant on the property and to provide New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) services and to implement investigation and remediation tasks to address a wide variety of environmental and regulatory issues related to historical site operations at the subject site.

In addition to the above technical work, VERINA will be responsible for maintaining overall project compliance and handling NJDEP required public outreach related to the site.

The Beginning of Verina Consulting Group, LLC in Environmental Management, Engineering, and Science Business

Verina Consulting Group, LLC (VERINA) was registered on September 26, 2011 as a limited liability company in the State of New Jersey.  The formation of the company was to provide professional services in environmental management, engineering, and science to the Northeast US market place.

 

On October 18, 2011, VERINA opened its office at 220 Davidson Avenue, Suite 105, Somerset, New Jersey 08873.  Three staff members joined the operation:

Robert Gan, Ph.D., P.E., Managing Principal – Dr. Gan brings in more than 27 years of professional experience in the civil and environmental engineering field to VERINA. As a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states, his areas of expertise include business management; leadership development; merger and acquisition support; marketing strategy development; environmental liability management; litigation support; water and wastewater characterization, treatment, discharge permit applications and engineering design; soil and groundwater remedial investigations/feasibility studies (RI/FS) and remedial design/remedial action (RD/RA); environmental and regulatory compliance assessment and audits; environmental support to property transaction activities; and air dispersion modeling, emission evaluation, and permit application.

 

Michael R. Fontana, LSRP, Principal – With more than 30 years of professional experience, Mr. Fontana oversees technical studies and offers consulting services for soil and groundwater assessment, investigation and remediation.  Mr. Fontana specializes in complex hazardous site investigation and remediation, underground storage tank (UST) investigations, litigation support, regulatory compliance and the environmental aspects of real estate transactions.   In addition, Mr. Fontana directs project and case file research, prepares expert reports, and consults on a wide variety of environmental litigation matters.  During his career, Mr. Fontana has been qualified as an expert witness in state court and provided successful expert testimony on numerous environmental technical issues including groundwater contamination timing, corrosion rates of USTs, appropriateness of remedial action selection and historic hazardous material usage in industry-specific applications.

 

Jack Koczan, C.P.G., Senior Consultant – Mr. Koczan is a Certified Professional Geologist and Registered Environmental Professional with over 30 years of professional experience in the applied earth and environmental sciences.  Mr. Koczan has assisted private sector clients on major capital project development, industrial and commercial facility environmental compliance, mergers and acquisitions, environmental liability management, and environmental litigation nationwide. Mr. Koczan also leads renewable energy project development, feasibility and permitting services for nationwide developers.
